Congratulations to the St Albert Barons Winners of the Atom AA Provincial Championships
Beaumont wins PlaySmart
3/15/2009
Sherry Haarstad and Debbie Northcott from Hockey Alberta awarded the Host Beaumont Braves the Source for Sports PlaySmart award.
Award Criteria:
The team selected as the PLAY SMART Team for the tournament/event will be the team that best reflects the philosophy of Play SMART by demonstrating positive attributes that will include, but not limited to:
- Team Officials provide equal opportunities to every member of their team regardless of the situation.
- Limited number of “Unsportsmanlike” type Penalties assessed. (ie. Abuse of officials, Checking from behind, Check to the head, Major or Match Penalties, etc.)
- Team participates with safety as a consideration
- Team, Coaching Staff, and Parents shows Respect to and for the following:
- Opponents
- Themselves
- Tournament/Event Officials
- Host Community (Accommodations, Arena Staff, etc.)
- Host Committee Volunteers
- General Public
